Omron LD mobile robot

Omron LD mobile robot

Mobile robots are autonomous intelligent vehicles (AIV) that can assist with routine, labor intensive material handling tasks.

They can serve as a single robot or a full fleet of robots carrying goods from place to another. They are self-mapping and have a self-navigation system which means they are easy to set up. Just teach the route once and the robot is ready to go. They can be equipped with robotic arms, locked storage or conveyors and can be taught to communicate one way.

Omron LD can carry loads up to 90kg. In a hospital it can deliver single items and boxes from place to another. It is also an ideal solution for an automatised sterilization center where it can carry equipment baskets from procedure to another.

Robust navigation with Acuity (patented)
Acuity provides an additional method of “localization” to the onboard laser, helping the robot adjust to frequently changing environments. It identifies overhead lights and overlays the “light map” with the “floor map”. It also allows the robots to move easily across wide-open areas.

Safety
Omron mobile robots are fully safety compliant. They use an onboard laser and other sensors to detect obstacles in their path and, based on speed of travel, trigger an E-stop to prevent vehicle collision.

Sensors:

  • Safety Rated Main Laser
  • Lower Laser
  • Side Lasers (Patented)
  • Front Bumper
  • Rear Sonar
  • Rear Laser.

Omron LD mobile robots are already widely used in warehouses and for hospitals they are also available in cleanroom rating: Fed Class 100, ISO Class 5
